Base maintenance

Base maintenance is the foundation for operational monitoring and control of the components and systems used. Its goal is to ensure smooth and sustainably stable operation.

The Event Management As the most important component of base maintenance, it ensures automated monitoring of components and makes a major contribution to sustainable, stable operation with predictive analyses. Events generated by components can be used as the basis for numerous routine activities. Event Management provides mechanisms for early detection of incidents. In many cases, incidents can be detected and measures taken before the respective component actually fails.

Ensuring the performance and utilization of a component or system is also a goal of base maintenance. This usually involves monitoring necessary components and elements, such as CPU utilization, RAM utilization, and file storage utilization.

Other activities within the scope of base maintenance:

Implementation of measures to maintain the functional performance of running applications without modifying or extending functional specifications, e.g., by applying patches
Implementation of housekeeping measures, such as analyzing log files, deleting temporary files, and adjusting system parameters to maintain system stability and performance.
