Interview with the EIM Executive Board: Document chaos is not an IT problem, but a process problem.
A conversation with André Vogt about document logistics, AI, and the future of Enterprise Information Management (EIM)
We’ve all been there: documents end up in the wrong inbox, information is duplicated, processing times drag on, and in the end, everyone points the finger at IT. André Vogt, ISR Board Spokesperson and Senior Vice President of Enterprise Information Management at CENIT AG, sees things differently. In this video interview, he explains why the real problem lies in the processes and how companies can change that.
What does the term "document logistics" mean?
André Vogt deliberately uses the word document logistics — a neologism that aptly describes ISR’s holistic approach. It refers to the entire chain, from document receipt through processing to archiving. The goal is clear: reduce processing times, lower error rates, and make information flows traceable.
Document logistics is not an end in itself, but rather a central component of the overarching Enterprise Information Management (EIM) framework, under which ISR manages, automates, and makes both structured data and unstructured content accessible.
AI as an accelerator, but with a sense of proportion
Of course, the topic of artificial intelligence is also covered. André Vogt explains how ISR integrates AI solutions into its own process chains—for example, for the recognition and classification of incoming documents or for the analysis of archive content. He emphasizes that AI is a tool that must be deployed at the right points in the process—combined with workflow logic and specialized partner solutions.
Multichannel, Compliance, and a People-First Approach
Today, digitalization means, above all, more channels, greater complexity, and higher customer expectations. André Vogt emphasizes that it is not enough to simply digitize processes. They must function consistently across all channels while meeting compliance requirements and keeping the user experience in mind. Authorization models, data protection, system integration—all of these factors work together. And last but not least: the people. Anyone who has worked with a particular system for years needs more than just new software. They need support.
Why It's Worth Watching
In the interview, André Vogt doesn't talk about abstract visions, but rather about concrete challenges, potential solutions, and real-world experiences.
