REQUIREMENTS
- BwFuhrparkService GmbH offers its customers various services on a portal, such as eAbruf, which can be used to report mobility needs.
- Technically, the portal was implemented based on SAP BW as the backend and ABAP OO & Business Server Pages (BSP) for the application logic and UI.
- The system is struggling with increasing development costs and complexity that is difficult to manage. In addition, the UI is no longer state-of-the-art.
- The aim of the project was to find and implement a new, modern, and flexible solution. It was important to develop the portal's services in a modular way so that they could be deployed.
OUR SERVICES
- Preliminary study on the selection of the target architecture. The suitability of SAP BW/4 HANA and HANA SQL was examined.
- The recommendation and decision fell on SAP HANA SQL, in particular due to the possibility of containerized and service-oriented development. Another decisive factor was that the HANA XSa-based development approach in combination with Git made local developer "sandboxes" possible. This reduced overlaps and dependencies between development packages.
- Design of agile and iterative development (DevOps) and project methodology (Scrum)
- Implementation of the data model and application logic with SAP HANA SQL
