SAP Business Intelligence – A Consultant's Perspective

Share post via

The FAZ describes the consultants as "just married" cans that hang on SAP like the cans on the car of newlyweds on a rollercoaster ride.

Every junction, every pothole hurls them through. (FAZ from 03.01.2021 - Updated: 04.01.2021, 09:58 a.m., https://www.faz.net/-ikh-a74ma).

Due to the rapid change in the SAP product landscape, SAP is also presenting its service providers with challenges: They need to familiarize themselves with the new products and roll out pilot projects in order to gather their own best practices so that they can provide their customers with expert advice.

Due to the wide range of possibilities and the use of cloud technologies, the service provided by SAP consultants begins with advice on technology selection and ends with support for the specialist processes that are supported by the software. The focus of consulting on software installations and the associated services is changing to digitalization and adjustments to operational processes.

However, this change also creates opportunities for customers and consulting firms.

Customized BI architecture thanks to diverse SAP product portfolio

The diverse SAP product portfolio offers many interesting opportunities to develop and modernize the BI landscape.themmodernize. Consultants can use a wide range of tools and solutions that optimally map the requirements of their customers.. Technical aspects are playing less and less of a role here, with move increasingly on process-related or organizational aspects. are increasingly coming into focus:

BI strategy topics

This raises the question of whether the processes determine the BI architecture or the BI architecture determines the processes and organization.

With the analysis of the existing BI strategy and an outlook/desire/target image, both the organization and processes as well as the technical BI architecture can be harmonized.

The challenge for service providers is to map the aspects given by their customers with the right technology while always keeping an ear to the ground of the SAP strategy. But is this BI tool jungle really impenetrable or are there "only" a wide range of options for designing modern (cloud-based) BI architectures?

Change management in the SAP consulting business

ISR invests in the training and further education of ISR consultants in order to do justice to the changing nature of the SAP consultant's work and the constantly expanding product portfolio.

Workshops with SAP and development partnerships ensure that ISR consultants are always "on the ball".

Our consultants are therefore optimally prepared to design strategies, architectures and processes together with our customers. The resulting findings and ideas are discussed with SAP and, if necessary, integrated as best practice in the further development of the tools.

We do not see ourselves as "just married" cans, but as the fuel of the car, which brings the newlyweds into a secure future and thus supports customers in a wide range of ways on the path to digitalization.

Consultants bring structure to your BI landscape

SAP continuously adapts to the evolving demands of agile enterprises amidst technological transformation, constantly developing and optimizing its extensive BI tool landscape. However, selecting the appropriate Business Intelligence tools from an ever-increasing variety often presents a significant challenge. Today, numerous approaches exist for establishing or modernizing a future-proof and stable BI architecture. Concurrently, the technological boundaries between operational, tactical, and strategic reporting are becoming increasingly blurred. How can robust data integration across diverse source systems be ensured? And what role does the much-discussed Self-Service BI truly play in recent years? Which BI tools enable the successful implementation of Business Intelligence?

To facilitate these critical business decisions, our motivated and experienced consultants provide support in finding the optimal solutions for your specific challenges.
